Schmurphy Wedding

Following my magnificent day at the spa (which, by the way, was one of the only concessions to marrying Andy... jk Andy jk), Dandy and our respective families scurried about trying to prepare for nuptials. We got married at Willow Creek Ranch in Evergreen, CO on July 9th, 2016. The wedding was incredible with "so much love it was gross." Our wedding day turned out better than we could have ever imagined and we have never felt more loved. Big BIG shout outs to my mom for all of the wedding planning and prep, Julie for her help throughout the whole weekend, Andy's mom and Lillian for their flower skills, Beth for officiating (and doing a spectacular job), Tucker for being such a good boy, and everyone else that lent a hand during set up and tear down (Thomas, Ben, Casey, Kurt, Abiah, the bridal party, etc, etc, etc).

WA to CO with 1 Gasoline Overdose

On July 2nd, 2016, after dropping off a final load of crap into our good friend's basement, we drove to Boise, ID to stay with Dani's grandma - affectionately known as Gramick Monique Fantastic. We departed on our nation's 240th birthday and traveled to Rock Springs, WY where we camped along Wild Horse Scenic Route overlooking the city.

After watching Andy's family's video of the New York fireworks, we watched the Rock Springs fireworks from a distance. Let's just say they were less impressive.

We woke up the next morning, excited to drive the final stretch to Colorado where we were to be married 4 days later. However, Bernard had other plans. He planned to spend the day getting towed off the bluff and into Green River, WY only to have a mechanic fumble about for 4 hours...of course we obliged. After about 9 hours, one rental car company without any cars, and only 30 minutes before the mechanic closed, Bernard decided to start. The only explanation given was, "maybe it flooded when you tried to start the engine, everything seems to be okay now." We were not in a position to question Bernie's antics, we were back on the road. We arrived at Dani's mom's house at 11:30 pm less $500. Crisis averted.

The Struggle is Real

Prior to our last day of work, we did a full earthquake retrofit on our 1926 home in Seattle, became first time landlords, planned a wedding, packed for a domestic and international trip, bought a 1985 VW Vanagon (which we promptly named Bernie, or Bernard when he is in trouble), created about 8 budget spreadsheets, and sold or moved all of our stuff into storage. We left in Bernie the next day...It's fair to say we hate ourselves.
